A woman who has heard and recognized the call of God, and who wishes to join the Benedictine order, must meet the following conditions:


be 18 years of age
be free of "engagement" ( (ie. ties of marriage, children, care of aged parents)
be free of debts
live according to the Benedictine rule
wish to live, from now on, a life of obedience, stability, poverty and chastity
wishes to devote her life to God and the love of one's neighbour within a religious community
to have reached a certain level of emotional maturity
no dowry is requested

After the application has been reviewed, candidates will meet with the Council of the Abbaye.
The candidate who is accepted will be a postulate for twelve to twenty-four months, after which she will be given the religious habit and will become a novice for 3 years. At the conclusion of this three year period the novice will then take temporary vows of stability, obedience, poverty and chastity. After a period of time, she will then take her perpetual vows.
