Description:  This kata is called, "Storming the Fortress", and this is evident from the power and strength that is demonstrated in the kata.  Its name was changed to Bassai Dai by Ginchin Funakoshi.

(Because of its overwhelming use in Wado techniques, if only one hand is mentioned, the other hand is performing a back hikite. )
(Also, unless otherwise mentioned, all jun-tsuki's are at the chudan, solar plexis level.)

1. Step forward chudan sasae uke.
  Right gyaku neeko ashi dachi.
   
2. Right leg goes back, then mawate left, 180, into right ude uke, left soto uke.
  Left zenkutsa dachi.
   
3. Right leg goes back, then mawate right, 180, into left ude uke, right soto uke.
  Right zenkutsa dachi.
   
4. Mawate right, 90, with right counter clockwise ude uche, left soto uke.
  Right neeko ashi dachi.
   
5. Mawata left, 90, left tae uke.
  Heiko dachi.
   
6. Left gedan uke, right chudan jun-tsuki.
  Heiko dachi.
   
7. Drop into right soto uke.
  Left naname zenkutsa dachi.
   
8. Pull up left chudan jun-tsuki.
  Heiko dachi.
   
9. Drop into Left soto uke.
  Right naname zenkutsa dachi.
   
10. Pull left in, then go forward with right soto shooto uke, left chudan shooto uke.
  Pull left in, then left mahnmi no neeko ashi dachi.
   
11. Press down the right soto uke, cover face with left chudan uke, slide forward and hit same stance and hit right chudan shooto uke, and left soto shooto uke.
  Left mahnmi no neeko  ashi dachi.
   
12. Press down the soto uke, slide forward into right soto shooto uke, left chudan soto uke.
  Right mahnmi no neeko  ashi dachi.
   
13. Yoi hidari nodo sukami, meigi kinteki tetsui uke. (pull back left throat grab, right palmheel groin block).

14. Mawate left 90, double gedan sukami to attackers kick, then counter with kinteki yoko geri.
  kosa dachi to teiji-dachi (t-stance).
   
15. Mawate left, 180, into left soto shooto uke, right chudan shooto uke.
  Left mahnmi no neeko  ashi dachi.
   
16. Press down the soto uke, slide forward into right soto shooto uke, left chudan soto uke.
  Right mahnmi no neeko  ashi dachi.
   
17. Pull back into double gedan kinteki seikan ukes, thumb sides toukeng.  Age seikans, to forehead, rotating so that at apex, the knuckes are toukeng.
  Heisoku dachi.
   
18.  Step forward into double chudan ura tsukis.
  Right zenkutsa dachi.
   
19. Slip forward again, into right chudan jun-tsuki.
  Slip up, right zenkutsa dahci.
   
20. Mawate left, 90, into a left jodan tetsui, right soto uke.
  Heiko dachi.
   
21. Mawate left, 180, into a left hikite, right age (rising), heisoku geri into a left hirate, then continue hirate into right empi, followed by a right tetsui, left chudan uke.
  Sheeko dachi.
   
22. Look 180 left, and switch hands to left tetsui/right chudan uke, and back again.
  Sheeko dachi.
   
23. Pull in left, hands to obi, right tomoe tsuki.
. Right seisan dachi.
   
24. Pull back into left tae uke, then right tomoe tsuki.
. Left seisan dachi.
   
25. Pull back into right tae uke, then left tomoe tsuki.
  Right seisan dachi.
   
26. Left mawata (180 degrees), right soto uke.
  Left naname zenkutsa dachi.
   
27. Left soto uke.
  Right naname zenkutsa dachi.
   
28. Pull in, the right shooto soto uke, left chudan shooto uke.
  right mahnmi no neeko ashi dachi.
   
29. Press down right, cover left, slide forward into a left soto shooto uke, right chudan shooto uke.
  left mahnmi no neeko ashi dachi.
   
30. Mawate hips right to back right angle, slowly bringing hands to a back angle right shooto soto uke, left chudan shooto uke, while facing front left angle.
  right mahnmi no neeko ashi dachi.
   
31. Slip forward towards left front angle, hips and legs first, then slowly into a left soto shooto uke, right chudan shooto uke.
  left mahnmi no neeko ashi dachi.
   
 
 
  Yame. Pull back left, and up right into gedan sasae uke, heisoku dachi
